Biography

The Early Years

Born on 5th June 1978 (12.34pm on 5/6/78 if you believe the legends) Ross was the youngest of three children - he has identical twin sisters - and grew up just outside Ascot, Berkshire.

Both his parents worked and his mother set up a small property management company which helped to pay some rather extortionate school fees for Ross to attend Stubbington House School in Ascot, Berkshire.

However, Ross wasn’t the greatest of academics or sportsmen and his disinclination to get involved in naval escapades like many of Stubbington’s alumni meant that a change of scene was on the cards.

In 1990 aged 12 Ross joined Reading Blue Coat School (schooling such national emissaries as Jeremy Kyle and Chemical Tom, it was a classy place) and it was here that Ross got his first taste for business.

One Saturday afternoon whilst browsing Bracknell town centre for signs of human life, Ross found a market stall selling three magazines for £1. Spotting an opportunity, he bought a dozen and then sold all of them the following week to his classmates for £3 each.

This pattern was repeated each week until it caught the attention of the school authorities who took a rather dismissive view of his activities and he was encouraged to stop. Fortunately not before Ross had managed to sell all his stock and bank a few hundred pounds.

After years of piano lessons, Ross was asked to apply for an Organist Scholariship and was successfully accepted, which went some way to paying towards his school fees - and a lifetime of playing with his organ puns. As the organist, Ross was expected to play at various assemblies and events. It has also helped some of his friends save a few quid at their weddings.
